Located in the heart of Bashundhara, Dhaka, MUSA International is a dedicated visa processing center designed to accommodate large daily gatherings while prioritizing comfort, efficiency, and environmental responsiveness

Because the project sits in a dense urban setting where green space is scarce, a major design strategy was to integrate generous landscaped areas within the site. These outdoor zones provide a much-needed sense of relief for visitors, offering fresh air, natural cooling, and opportunities to relax or interact while waiting. The green spaces also reduce interior congestion, creating a healthier work environment for staff and visitors alike.

Environmental performance is central to the building’s design. Instead of conventional shading devices, the facade is wrapped with a steel frame system that limits solar heat gain while promoting wind flow. Perforated steel panels add texture and rhythm to the exterior, while also providing controlled ventilation, daylight, and outward views. Inside, the filtered light produces a playful balance of brightness and shadow, creating a calm atmosphere that makes concentration easier and helps reduce stress in what is often a demanding environment.

The combination of landscape integration, ventilated façades, and thoughtful spatial design ensures that the facility is both functional and human-centered. More than an administrative building, MUSA International demonstrates how civic architecture can merge efficiency, climate sensitivity, and user well-being, turning a visa processing center into a welcoming, restorative landmark within Dhaka’s urban core.
